Natural toothpaste is the only way to go so I was really excited to try this new natural, flouride-free toothpaste from @bentodent.

There are some amazing natural ingredients in this toothpaste! The base is bentonite clay is made from volcanic ash. It has some awesome oral health properites: purifying, detoxifying, alkalizing, and preventing diseases.

The toothpaste also contains:

• charcoal: a natural whitening agent

• stevia: a natural tooth-safe sweetener

• menthol: anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial

• peppermint oil: anti-bacterial

• tea tree oil: anti-bacterial, reduces plaque and tooth decay

Unlike conventional toothpaste there are no harsh chemicals. There are no foaming agents such as sodium lauryl sulfate which can cause irritation and canker sores!

The toothpaste is also fluoride free which is very acidic and can lead to many health complications. A 2019 study found that rats treated with flouride had less pineal gland cells - the gland that is responsible for melatonin production 😱

This @bentodent toothpaste sounds great on paper but does it preform? Both my husband and I used charcoal whitening toothpaste but we can't agree on what we think! The minty taste is way too strong for me. On the other hand ny husband thought it wasn't minty enough but the taste was pleasant. Our teeth felt super clean, but we didn't get that whole mouth clean that we've come to love from other natural toothpastes. Overall, my husband enjoyed the tooth paste and will continue to use it, for me it's a pass. Maybe the other flavours would have worked better for my taste!
