Gluten free goodness for a healing celiac's gut health
May 28, 2020 Report
Beauty for me, means taking care of myself inside and out. I drink lots of water, I workout and while I try and eat properly, I sometimes skip breakfast or lunch.
Because of this, I rely on a whole food protein powder like Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein & Greens to help ensure I get not only 20g of plant based protein, but organic raw veggies such as spinach, kale, alfalfa juice, broccoli, carrots and beets.
The raw, organic protein comes from pea, sprouted brown rice, chia and a navy, lentil and garbanzo beans mix. One of the things I love about this protein is that it also contains probiotics and enzymes for my gut health and digestion. As a newly healing celiac, my gut doesn't tolerate many probiotics without issues and this is the gentlest way for me to get them without upset.
I have the vanilla flavour and I enjoy mixing it with almond milk, banana and peanut butter. This has a true vanilla taste with no earthy or 'greens' taste, which actually surprised me. I do find this a bit powdery or chalky, but adding in banana and ice really helps to smooth it out and the taste itself is really great. The benefits of using a whole food formula, that is not synthetic and that contains probiotics and enzymes far outweighs any texture issues for me.
Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein & Greens is also vegan, gluten free, dairy & soy free and non-gmo.
