Brew a cup of rich fig-full coffee without caffeine.
March 26, 2022 Report
Bubble teas are popular beverages in the West Coast. Even before the warm weather kicks in, I see fans of the sweet drinks toting around their tall cups with a variety of chewy options like boba, grass jelly, coconut jelly in the bottom. Most of these drinks are high in refined sugar and use artificial flavours. I used to be a big fan of adding grass jelly in mine, but after a somewhat disappointing experience trying out a less sugar order with my kids, I got the idea to use my latest coffee alternative review product by Ecoideas to stir up a more nutritious version at home.
Coffideas by Ecoideas is made from 100% Organic Roasted Black Figs. Caffeine free and Keto friendly, Coffideas is already ground, ready for you to make a cup of Coffee Alternative. This grind is quite fine so watch out for slower pulls if you are using it in an espresso machine. I prefer to steeped it like tea then strained the grinds out afterward.
Who is this for?
This product is for you if you are looking for a cup of rich tasting beverage without caffeine, or you might be in the elimination phase of a therapeutic protocol like AIP ( Paleo Autoimmune Protocol) and miss the taste of coffee, this would be a great additional to other coffee substitutes on the market. Brew and drink it as a hot or cold beverage or use it in recipes for cooking and baking.
Tip: Don’t throw the grinds out, use it as a meat rub to add colour, a touch of smokey flavour and of course fibre and nutrients.
What does it taste like?
When I used it in my home espresso machine, I can smell the rich fig sweetness as the shot pulled into my cup. It taste very similar to coffee substitute made from dandelion or chicory root, but with a slightly fuller in body. I followed the “use less” suggestion ½ tsp per cup of hot water and it gave me a pleasantly mild taste.
